Waad al-Kateab is a young Syrian woman who lives in Aleppo when the war broke out in 2011. Under the bombings, life goes on. Waad falls in love, marries Hamza and gives birth to her daughter, Sama. She films the daily losses, hopes and solidarity of the people of Aleppo. Her doctor husband saves hundreds of lives in a makeshift hospital. The couple is torn between protecting their child and fighting for freedom.
