Two workers are making an alarming discovery in an old apartment in Copenhagen: hidden behind a false wall are three mummified corpses, sitting around a single-empty table. The case ends quickly on the desk of Detective CARL MØRCK and his assistant, ASSAD, and they have to figure out what mummies are and what the fourth chair is intended for. Carl and Assad have made every effort to find the tenant of the apartment and find clues that come back to the notorious “daubed” institution on the island of Sprogø where extreme neglect and medical experiments in forced sterilization are part of everyday life . Even though the blinds in Sprogø are a closed chapter in Danish history, there are now people who claim that experiments have continued to continue until today. Carl and Assad start a race against time to prevent new crimes and attacks.
