Maud, a home nurse, moves in with Amanda, a famous dancer weakened by the disease that keeps her cloistered in her huge house. Amanda is initially intrigued by this strange, very religious young woman, who distracts her. Maud, she is fascinated by her patient. But appearances are deceptive. Maud, tormented by a terrible secret and by the messages she thinks she receives directly from God, persuades herself that she must accomplish a mission: to save Amanda’s soul.
