The film is based on Armenian genocide during the Ottoman Empire of 1915, which led to the forced and diaspora migration of the Armenian minority. One day a young man, Nazaret Manoogian, is deported by the Turkish authorities, along with all the other Armenian people in his native Mardin village. He becomes a forced laborer and survives mass murder by chance and an act of kindness, but loses his family and faith. One night Nazareth devastated find out that his daughters might still be alive and did not die as his wife’s hunger, violence or rape in the march of death. Nazareth goes on a search to find them and travels from his small village through the Mesopotamian deserts to the sea, always looking for clues that could lead him to his children. Nazareth’s epic journey will take him from Asia to America at the end of a new beginning.
