Zootropolis 2
Alright, so in this next adventure, our favorite duo from Zootopia is back! Judy Hopps, the spirited bunny cop, and her sly fox partner, Nick Wilde, are thrown into another big mystery. There’s this snake named Gary De’ Snake stirring up chaos all over Zootopia. So now Judy and Nick have to undercover—and let’s just say their teamwork skills are gonna get seriously tested.
This picks up right after their award-winning win almost ten years ago. And hey, things have really amped up since then! With CGI magic getting even cooler, they’ve figured out how to make everything look super awesome on screen. The new script by Jared Bush—yeah, that’s the guy behind Moana—is packed with some amazing storytelling while still being something kids can enjoy too. Plus, there are some cool new characters like a snake called Gary De’ Snake (obviously!) and a beaver named Nibbles Maplestick.
And get this—there’s a scene where 50,000 animated animals fill the screen at once! Totally wild and straight-up movie magic kind of stuff that’ll give you goosebumps if you’re into epic film scenes. Oh, and if you’re someone who loves when movies drop surprise references to other flicks—I mean who doesn’t?!—then you’ll catch some slick nods here that’ll make any movie buff smile.
If you’re taking your kids to see this movie, you might spot some familiar faces, like the SKZOO mascots from the K-pop group Stray Kids. This film is all about a whirlwind of crazy, overlapping situations where there’s just tons happening at once. Like there’s this bit with a search engine called “Zoogle”—get it?—and this video platform named “EweTube” that’s pretty quirky. The whole thing’s packed with visual jokes and wordplay that’ll keep you laughing.
Characters are super fun here; imagine an animal saying they’ve got “the weight on my shoulders,” and then realizing, “Wait, I don’t even have shoulders!” You’ll see animals doing very human-like things too. For instance, Mayor Brian Winddancer used to be an actor before jumping into politics, rocking a mane that looks just like bleached hair. It’s also about balancing our impulsive side with our rational one—animals included! So when someone tells an animal they could be different, it’s hilarious when they reply with something like, “Nah, I’m good like this,” even if that means trouble down the road.
Just like in the first Zootopia movie—with wild areas like Sahara Square and Tundratown—there are cool new places too. There’s Lynxley Manor where some fancy event called the Zootenario Gala happens.
In “Swamp Market,” the animators get to have fun bringing all these cool semi-aquatic animals to life. It’s pretty funny when Chief Bogo makes the bunny and fox go to group therapy together. The program’s called “Partners in Crisis,” with Dr. Fuzzby running the show. This sequel throws in a few new faces, like Gazelle, the pop star (yep, that’s Shakira singing during the credits!). Keep an eye out for something extra after those credits roll! It’s all about showing how our differences make us unique and even bring people—or animals—together in unexpected ways. True love can pop up just where you least expect it!
