Monkey Man

In India, a young man is released from prison. He finds himself in a world where the greed of business leaders reigns and, conversely, the erosion of spiritual values.
Monkey Man was purchased in 2021 by Netflix for around $30 million (twice the film’s budget). But the streaming giant wasn’t doing anything about it. According to the World of Reel website, the representation of a character from the Hindu nationalist right worried Netflix about its future relations with India. The company would therefore have preferred to return the film to the producers.

Jordan Peele (Get Out, Nope) then had the opportunity to see the film. Seduced by Dev Patel’s vision, he believes that Monkey Man deserves to be distributed in theaters. He then bought this “John Wick in Mumbai” via his company Monkeypaw Productions and decided to release it in cinemas with Universal Pictures.
The Curse is a sensation!

Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace is now 3rd and is closely followed by another new release, The Curse: The Origin.

After Halloween and The Exorcist, another horror classic is getting a makeover: The Curse. With one difference, because if the two previous sagas were entitled to sequels, this will be a prequel to the film by Richard Donner, released in 1976 and in which a United States ambassador in London realizes that his son is none other than the reincarnation of the Antichrist.
