Margaret Simon, a young girl, moves with her family from New York to Farbrook, New Jersey. She grew up between a Christian mother and a Jewish father. She prays to a god and she imagines that he is constantly watching her. Along with the search for his personal faith, his body changes. She observes, with curiosity, the secret club in which other girls her age talk about boys, bras and menstruation.
