How To Blow Up A Pipeline

Faced with the ecological emergency, a group of young activists set themselves a perilous mission: to sabotage a pipeline that carries oil throughout the United States. Because sometimes the only way to be heard is to take action.
Sabotage is an adaptation of the book How to sabotage a pipeline, by Swedish researcher Andreas Malm, in which he defends a radicalization of modes of action against climate change. Turning this theoretical manifesto into a narrative film was for Daniel Goldhaber his most complicated writing task, but also his most exciting: “There was something of the spirit of the French New Wave in the idea of confronting the abstract ideas of this book with the language of Hollywood cinema.” It was on the advice of Jordan Sjol, one of the co-screenwriters who is also an academic specializing in economics, that Goldhaber looked at Malm’s book: “He recommended this book to me, telling me that it would still be not bad, in an era where American cinema swears only by licenses, to bring an essay to the screen”.
