May December

To prepare for her new role, a famous actress comes to meet the woman she will play on screen, whose love life ignited the tabloids and excited the country 20 years earlier.
Not convinced by this new Todd Haynes, who is easily the worst of his film in my opinion. By wanting to divert the codes of the double game (an actress interferes in the life of a former glory who hit the headlines for a romance with a minor), Haynes delivers a portrait of a woman falling into imbalance and ruptures of your too many. The ass between two chairs with an ultimately vain appearance, despite an excellent visual quality, and a completely excellent Natalie Portman-Julianne Moore duo.
The overall camp approach is daring (there’s even some Michel Legrand) but the whole thing ultimately remains quite messy, too regularly defusing its character study for derision.
