Shohoku’s playmaker, Ryota Miyagi, always plays smart and lightning-fast, out-flanking his opponents while keeping his composure. Born and raised in Okinawa, Ryota had an older brother who was three years older. Following in the footsteps of the latter, a famous local player from an early age, Ryota also became addicted to basketball. As a sophomore in high school, Ryota is on the Shohoku High School basketball team, alongside Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui, and competes in the national inter-high school championship. Now, they are about to take on the defending champions, players from Sannoh Kogyo High School.
